Health & safety guidelines

Before your appointment

  • Please fill out our booking enquiry form and ensure you have confirmed your appointment and paid deposit

  • Make sure you eat well, stay hydrated and get a good night’s rest the day before your appointment. This will help on the day, also ensure you have a good breakfast and/or lunch before you come in. This will help your blood sugar levels on the day to minimize discomfort

  • If you have any medical issues please ensure to inform us before the day of your appointment

  • Be confident and sure of what you’re wanting to get, let your artist know of any idea changes before the day of the appointment so we can ensure time allocation and design is good to go

During your appointment

  • You will have a consultation before any tattooing commences, this time we can answer any questions and go through final design with you in person

  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions, we are here to provide the best service possible for you

  • We will help with advice on placement and sizing

  • Always let us know how you’re feeling. If you need a break, feel lightheaded, water or just need a moment please don’t hesitate to communicate any needs you have

  • It is not a pain to move or resize your tattoo, ask away on the day if you would like to see options

  • We will be honest through the process about design, size and placement, so please trust our advice for best results.

Aftercare

  • Keep your aftercare bandage on for 2-3 days

  • If there is any irritation or if it becomes uncomfortable, please remove straight away under running warm water

  • A small amount of build up under the bandage is normal, this is excess ink and plasma which can aid initial healing. If you feel any outside moisture or sweat gets under the cover, remove as soon as you can, sweat is not our friend in the healing stage

  • Shower and sleep with the bandage if comfortable, please keep showers not too hot for the first week, especially with the bandage as it will stick to your skin a lot more

  • When removing bandage pull down and away from the tattoo rather than ripping it off like a bandaid

  • Clean with warm soapy water. Be sure to remove any excess adhesive that might in the area and pat dry

  • Now its time to start with your aftercare balm.

  • We proudly stock Inky aftercare balm, we love the healed results this product provides, otherwise for bigger pieces we would offer Inky or Bepanthen if you already have it. Generally speaking and particularly with fine line work, you really need a nourishing balm to aid the healing and sure the ink stays where we want it to.

  • Apply a thin coating over the tattoo and gently rub in. Less is more in this case

  • Continue to do this 3-4 times a day for 2 weeks so avoid any dryness to the tattoo

  • Avoid swimming and soaking the tattoo for at least 2 weeks. Also any fake tans or harsh exfoliating

  • Avoid exercise for at least a week that may cause you to sweat

  • Total healing time for a tattoo is around 6 weeks. Any touch ups need to happen after that period so please bare that in mind when booking

  • Any questions please contact us
